    Habit
    An erect monoecious pubescent little-branched perennial herb up to 50 cm., without stinging hairs.
    Leaves
    Petiole 3–5 mm. long; blade ovate or elliptic-ovate, 1.5–3 cm. long, 0.5–1.5 cm. wide, subacute, truncate, serrate, the teeth each being 1 mm. long, membranaceous, 5-nerved from the base, lateral nerves 4–6 pairs, not prominent above, slightly so beneath, evenly pubescent above and beneath.
    Stipules
    Stipules lanceolate, 3 mm. long, pubescent without, glabrous within.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences leaf-opposed, 3–4 cm. long, the peduncles 2 cm. long, mostly ♂ with 2–3 ♀ flowers at the base; axis densely pubescent; ♂ bracts elliptic, 2 mm. long, acute, entire, ciliate, 1-flowered; bracteoles narrowly lanceolate, 1 mm. long; female bracts elliptic-ovate, 3–4 mm. long, otherwise as in ♂; bracteoles 2 mm. long.

    Male flowers:pedicels 0.5 mm. long, pubescent; buds ovoid; calyx-lobes broadly ovate, 1 mm. long, cucullate, glabrous; stamens 0.5 mm. long, filaments slender, shorter than the anthers; pistillode 0. Female flowers:pedicels 1 mm. long, pubescent; calyx-lobes 6, 1.5 mm. long, ovate in outline, with 3–4 lateral, linear, pubescent lobules on each side; ovary trilobate, 2 mm. diameter, densely pubescent; styles 3, 2 mm. long, united for half their length, glabrous or subglabrous, the stigmas strongly recurved, ± smooth, hirtellous.

    Male flowers:pedicels 0.5 mm. long, pubescent; buds ovoid; calyx-lobes broadly ovate, 1 mm. long, cucullate, glabrous; stamens 0.5 mm. long, filaments slender, shorter than the anthers; pistillode 0.
    Female
    Female flowers:pedicels 1 mm. long, pubescent; calyx-lobes 6, 1.5 mm. long, ovate in outline, with 3–4 lateral, linear, pubescent lobules on each side; ovary trilobate, 2 mm. diameter, densely pubescent; styles 3, 2 mm. long, united for half their length, glabrous or subglabrous, the stigmas strongly recurved, ± smooth, hirtellous.
    Fruits
    Fruit and seeds not known.
    Habitat
    On black cotton soil, presumably in wooded grassland; ± 1800 m.
