    Habit
    Shrub 2.75–5 m tall; very young stems puberulous or pubescent; bark fawn-coloured or almost white.
    Leaves
    Leaf blades 2–4.7 × 0.9–2.7 cm, elliptic or rarely oblong-elliptic or broadly elliptic, acute to obtuse at apex, acute at base, coriaceous, shiny on upper surface, glabrous; lateral nerves in 2–3 main pairs; tertiary nerves obscure; domatia present as glabrous or ciliate pockets; petioles 1–3 mm long, glabrous or puberulous; stipules 2–3 mm long, truncate to triangular at their base with a linear decurrent lobe, often puberulous outside.
    Flowers
    Flowers 4-merous, borne in 6–30-flowered compact pedunculate corymbs; peduncles 3–9 mm long, puberulous; pedicels 2–6 mm long, puberulous; bracteoles inconspicuous.
    Calyx
    Calyx tube 1 mm long, broader than long, glabrous; limb 0.5 mm long, irregularly dentate, ciliate.
    Corolla
    Corolla white or greenish-white; tube 1.5–2.5 mm long, pubescent at throat; deflexed hairs not restricted to a definite ring; lobes 2–2.5 × 1.5 mm, oblong, acute.
    Anthers
    Anthers reflexed.
    Style
    Style 4.5–7 mm long.
    Pollen presenter
    Pollen presenter 1 × 0.5 mm long; disk glabrous.
    Fruits
    Fruit 4.5–6.5 × 6–9 mm, broadly oblong in outline, not or scarcely indented at apex.
    Pyrene
    Pyrenes 4.5–5.5 × 3–4.5 × 2.5 mm, ± ellipsoid with ventral face flattened, rugulose.
