    Habit
    Slender shrub probably almost identical in habit with C. semseii but less leafy; stems slender, dull purplish brown, longitudinally striate and with peeling fissured epidermis, glabrous save for dense white bristle-like hairs within the stipule-base remnants.
    Leaves
    Leaves borne on very short lateral shoots, oblong to lanceolate, up to 3.5 cm. long, 1.3 cm. wide (fide collector), ± obtuse to narrowly attenuate, lanceolate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous; petiole 2–3 mm. long.
    Inflorescences
    Cymes axillary 1–2-flowered; peduncle and pedicels up to 4 mm. long; bracts linear-lanceolate 1 cm. long, 1.5 mm. wide, attenuate at apex.
    Calyx
    Calyx-lobes lanceolate, 1.2 cm. long, 2–2.5 mm. wide, attenuate at apex.
    Corolla
    Corolla (in bud only) yellow, ± 8 mm. long including 1 mm. long apical tails.
    Ovary
    Ovary 2-locular, attenuate into pedicel.
    Fruits
    Only fruit seen with only one locule developed.
    Habitat
    Wooded grassland; 180 m.
