Morphology General Habit
Spreading succulent perennial to 40 cm high and 75 cm in diam.
Morphology Branches
Branches to 40 cm long, densely rebranched, terete, 2–8 mm thick, with shallow tubercles 1–1.5 cm apart in 3–4 spirally arranged series, uniformly pale glaucous green
Morphology General Spines
Spine-shields oblong-triangular, 4–7 mm long, widely separated; spines single, 5–12 mm long, terminating in forked tips 2–5 mm long with one fork usually shorter and weaker than the other; prickles 1–2 mm long
