Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes elongated. Butt sheaths persistent and investing base of culm; with compacted dead sheaths. Culms 7-12 cm long; 2 -noded. Culm-internodes elliptical in section. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1.5-2 mm long; truncate, or obtuse. Leaf-blades 5-12 cm long; 2-3 mm wide.
