Spreading or, more rarely, erect pubescent annual herb 0.2–1.2 m tall, with a well-defined taproot.

Leaflets 5–11, alternate or subopposite, 4–20 × 0.5–4 mm, narrowly elliptic to linear-oblanceolate, rounded to acute at the apex, cuneate, glabrous on upper surface, pubescent beneath; rhachis 5–25 mm long.

Umbels 2–8-flowered; peduncle 1.5–8 cm long with a bract resembling the leaves situated near the middle or, less often, towards the apex; pedicels 2–3 mm long, bearing small bracteoles towards the apex.
