Morphology General Habit
Erect herb, 5–15(25) cm. tall, simple to more usually branched; stems quadrangular, 4-winged, glabrous with few small glands at or near nodes.

Leaves sessile (5)10–25(30) x (1.5)2–8 mm., lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse or acute, entire to remotely, minutely serrate, those of upper pairs often very unequal.

Flowers blue to occasionally purple or white, solitary, axillary below becoming subracemose above, very shortly pedicellate.
