Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Culms erect; 80-100 cm long; 3-4 -noded. Culm-nodes glabrous. Leaves mostly basal. Leaf-sheaths scaberulous; glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 3-6 mm long; erose; truncate. Leaf-blades 15-30 cm long; 2-4.5 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scaberulous; rough on both sides. Leaf-blade apex attenuate.

Principal lemma awn dorsal; arising 0.66-0.75 way up back of lemma; straight; 0.5-1 mm long overall; not or scarcely exserted from spikelet. Palea 0.75 length of lemma; hyaline; 2 -veined.
