Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms arching, or leaning; slender; drooping at the tip; 200 cm long; 1-2 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; thin-walled; 10-15 cm long. Lateral branches dendroid. Bud complement 1. Branch complement two, or three; with subequal branches. Culm-sheaths deciduous; 4 cm long; glabrous. Leaves 8-11 per branch. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 4-7 cm long; 5-9 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade apex attenuate.
