Small tree 5–8(–13) m tall with thick bark and large corky lenticels.

Leaflets ovate-elliptic, (7–)9–16 × 3–9 cm, long, obtuse to cordate at the base, acuminate at the apex.

Note
Native of India, Ceylon, Southeast Asia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Known from a single specimen only in the Migombani Gardens, Zanzibar. We have seen no material and do not know if this tree is still extant.
