Biogeografic region: Andean. Elevation range: 3100–4350 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Arauca, Bogotá DC, Boyacá, Caldas, Cauca, Nariño, Santander, Valle del Cauca.
