Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Caribbean, Orinoquia. Elevation range: 76–1850 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Bogotá DC, Caldas, Cesar, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca, Vaupés.
