Similar to N. mucronata, but shortly papillate; inflorescences very loose, consists of maximum of 15 flowers; bracts equal with bracteoles, sometimes gibbous at base; perianth brownish

Gravelly slopes; alt. 1000–2500 m.
Distribution
Iraq. This is a poorly known species that requires further investigation. Now considered to be endemic to Iraq, but expected to be found in Turkey, W Iran and Syria.
