Morphology General Habit
A liane or sometimes a scandent shrub; branchlets densely villous, becoming glabrescent.

Leaves opposite or subopposite; lamina elliptic or broadly elliptic to oblong, 5–8 cm. long, 3–4 cm. wide, apex shortly acuminate, base truncate to subcordate, lightly pilose at first, becoming glabrescent except on the nerves; lateral nerves 4–8 pairs; petiole up to 5 mm. long, sometimes persisting and forming a spine.

Inflorescence of terminal and axillary contracted racemes; rhachis densely pubescent; floral leaves resembling small foliage leaves, but whitish and early deciduous.
