Liane; branches at first fuscous pubescent, becoming glabrescent.

Leaves opposite; lamina coriaceous, ovate-elliptic to oblong-elliptic, up to 19 cm. long and 9 cm. wide, apex acuminate, base obtuse to rounded, shortlypubescent on the venation beneath, becoming glabrescent, minutely and rather inconspicuously lepidote; lateral nerves 6–9 pairs, tertiary nerves parallel; petiole 8–10 mm. long (–20 mm. fide F.C.B.), generally densely pubescent.

Inflorescence of short rather crowded axillary spikes, appearing branched due to the suppression of the upper leaves, ± 2.5 cm. long on peduncles ± 1 cm. long; rhachis densely fuscous pubescent.
