Epiphyte, rarely lithophyte.
Vegetative Multiplication Rhizomes
Rhizome erect, 5–12 mm diameter, with dark brown lanceolate attenuate rhizome scales 3–7 mm long, with a paler margin with hair-like lobes.

Fronds tufted, somewhat fleshy, erect to arching, to 35 cm long, not proliferous.

Stipe greyish-green when dry, 3–18 cm long, very narrowly winged, with occasional brown lanceolate acuminate scales 1–2.5 mm long.

Lamina dull green, generally oblong-elliptic to lanceolate, 9–26 × 2.5–7 cm, 2-pinnate to 3-pinnatisect, with basal pinnae hardly reduced.

Pinnae 10–17 pairs, alternate, angled upwards, green, oblong to narrowly oblong-obtuse in outline, up to 4 × 1.7 cm, deeply pinnatifid with obliquely linear or spatulate lobes, the basal acroscopic lobe usually 2-fid, glabrous or with sparse scales like those on the stipe, to 1.5 mm long.
