The native range of this species is Mexico to Guatemala, S. Caribbean to N. Venezuela. It is a succulent shrub or tree and grows primarly in the seasonally dry tropical biome(s). It is used to treat unspecified medicinal disorders, as boundry barrier support and a medicine, has environmental uses and for food.
