Note
According to Vatke (1882) the basal leaves may be up to 1.3 cm wide and have up to 2 cm long petioles, but this cannot be seen on the isotype at BM. In Cuf. Enum.: 737 (1961), C. filipes Balf. f. is cited as a synonym of C. hildebrandtii. However, C. filipes is clearly distinct from C. hildebrandtii and endemic to Socotra.
