Perennial; stems twining, glabrous but minutely muriculate.

Leaf-blade round in outline, biternately or pedately or palmately 7–9-lobed, up to 3.5 cm. long and 5 cm. wide; lobes linear, ± acute and aristate or mucronulate, 2.5–3 cm. long and 2–3 mm. wide; petiole muriculate, 1.5–2.5 cm. long; pseudo-stipules present.
