- A perennial (or biennial?) succulent, glandular-pubescent throughout; hairs of the indumentum up to 1 mm. long, capitate-glandular, slightly rigid, spreading, whitish or pale tawny, ± dense, rather dense on the inflorescence.

- Stem curved at the base, then erect, robust, terete, smooth, pale; lower internodes ± 1 cm. long, the uppermost up to 6 cm.

- Leaves not or slightly connate, not decurrent along the stem, attenuate into a petiole or cuneate into a subpetiolar base, the uppermost sessile; lamina up to 8·5(11) x 6·5(9) cm., ovate, rounded to subacute at the top, irregularly dentate, sinuate-dentate or repand-dentate at the margin, flat, succulent but not thick, nearly membranous on drying, dull green, pubescent-glandular on both sides; petiole up to 3·5 cm. long.
