Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes short. Culms geniculately ascending; 24-54 cm long; 2-3 -noded. Culm-nodes glabrous, or pubescent. Lateral branches lacking. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule a ciliolate membrane; 1-2 mm long; truncate, or acute. Leaf-blades 6-30 cm long; 1.5-2.5 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scaberulous; glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scaberulous. Leaf-blade apex obtuse.
