- Morphology General Habit
- Erect annual (sometimes biennial) herb with spreading branches, 30–75 cm. tall with square stem.

- Leaves opposite, long petiolate; lamina subsucculent, circular to ovate, slightly lobed or sinuate, truncate or slightly cordate at the base, sparingly glandular below, glabrous above.

- Flowers solitary, yellow-green to white; corolla tube cylindrical at the middle, funnel-shaped at the mouth, with a large basal sac-like spur; limb spreading, obscurely bilabiate.

- Stamens 4, inserted low down in the corolla tube; thecae divergent.
