Morphology General Habit
Glabrous perennial herb with fleshy roots, a short erect rootstock clothed with fibrous leaf-bases and 1–3 simple, ascending angular stems up to 40 cm high

Olivier Gentian (Am.). Majid Mustafa recorded the local name MĀMIRĀN (Kurd.) at Amadiya, but there is no record of its use in Iraq.
