Perennial; caespitose. Culms slender; 45 cm long. Culm-internodes smooth. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 4 mm long; scaberulous on abaxial surface; obtuse. Leaf-blades flat, or involute; 5-8 cm long; 2 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
