Perennial. Cataphylls evident. Basal innovations extravaginal. Culms decumbent; 20-40 cm long; rooting from lower nodes. Leaf-sheaths smooth. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1.25-2 mm long; truncate. Leaf-blades 10-17.5 cm long; 4-5 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scabrous.
