Perennial. Culms erect; 50-90 cm long. Culm-internodes smooth; distally glabrous. Leaf-sheaths smooth; glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 2-4 mm long. Leaf-blades erect; filiform; involute; 1 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface smooth, or scaberulous.
