Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms erect; woody; without nodal roots. Culm-internodes terete. Lateral branches dendroid. Leaves cauline. Leaf-sheaths striately veined; smooth; glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs scanty. Leaf-sheath auricles absent. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Collar with external ligule. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath; petiole 0.1-0.2 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 7-15 cm long; 10-15 mm wide. Leaf-blade midrib evident. Leaf-blade venation with 10-12 secondary veins. Leaf-blade surface smooth. Leaf-blade apex acuminate; smooth.
