Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose; clumped densely. Rhizomes elongated. Culms erect; 50-120 cm long; 4-5 -noded. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 3-5 mm long; lacerate; obtuse. Leaf-blades flat, or involute; 1-2 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scaberulous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.

Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle contracted; oblong; 7-12 cm long. Panicle branches scabrous. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled.
