- Perennial; caespitose. Culms erect, or geniculately ascending; 10-80 cm long. Culm-internodes distally glabrous. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 2-4 mm long; lacerate. Leaf-blades flat, or involute; 4-30 cm long; 1-8 mm wide; light green, or glaucous. Leaf-blade surface glabrous.
