Perennial; caespitose; clumped densely. Basal innovations intravaginal. Culms erect; 30-75 cm long; 2 -noded. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 3-4 mm long; acute. Leaf-blades conduplicate; 15-22 cm long; 1.5-2 mm wide; stiff. Leaf-blade surface scabrous; rough adaxially. Leaf-blade apex acute.
