Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose; clumped loosely. Cataphylls inconspicuous. Rhizomes short. Culms 20-40 cm long; 0.7-1 mm diam.; 4-5 -noded. Culm-internodes 2-5 cm long. Leaves cauline. Leaf-sheaths mostly shorter than adjacent culm internode; smooth; glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs lacking, or pubescent. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1-2 mm long. Leaf-blades linear, or lanceolate; 8-13 cm long; 4-10 mm wide; pruinose. Leaf-blade surface scabrous.
