Perennial; caespitose. Butt sheaths villous. Culms geniculately ascending; 30-60 cm long. Culm-nodes glabrous. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blades 5-9 cm long; 2-4 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface glabrous.
