Morphology General Habit
Perennial; culms solitary. Butt sheaths persistent and investing base of culm; with fibrous dead sheaths. Culms geniculately ascending; 60-100 cm long. Culm-nodes brown. Leaves cauline. Leaf-sheaths smooth; pubescent; with reflexed hairs. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 3-4 mm long; erose. Leaf-blades 6-20 cm long; 2-5 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scabrous; glabrous, or pilose; sparsely hairy; hairy adaxially. Leaf-blade margins ciliate.
