Morphology General Habit
Annual. Culms decumbent; 30-45 cm long. Culm-internodes distally glabrous. Culm-nodes glabrous, or pubescent. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface, or pilose; outer margin hairy. Ligule absent. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 3.5-4.5 cm long; 3-7 mm wide. Leaf-blade venation distinct; with 22-30 secondary veins. Leaf-blade surface pilose; hairy on both sides; with tubercle-based hairs. Leaf-blade margins cartilaginous; smooth, or scaberulous.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Inflorescences
Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle open; elliptic; 2-5 cm long. Primary panicle branches ascending; 1 -nate; 1-1.5 cm long. Panicle branches glandular. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels filiform; glandular.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Inflorescences Spikelets
Spikelets comprising 2 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets ovate; dorsally compressed; 2.75-3.25 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret.
Fertile
Spikelets comprising 2 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets ovate; dorsally compressed; 2.75-3.25 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret.

Glumes deciduous; similar; shorter than spikelet; thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume orbicular; 2.5-3 mm long; 0.9 length of spikelet; membranous; without keels; 5-9 -veined. Lower glume surface glabrous, or pilose; with tubercle-based hairs. Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume orbicular; 2.5-3 mm long; 0.9 length of spikelet; membranous; without keels; 5-9 -veined. Upper glume surface glabrous, or pilose; with tubercle-based hairs. Upper glume apex acute.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Florets
