- Morphology General Habit
- Perennial. Rhizomes elongated; leptomorph. Culms erect; 150-200 cm long; woody. Culm-internodes terete; thin-walled; distally pubescent; with reflexed hairs. Culm-nodes pubescent. Lateral branches ample. Bud complement 1. Branch complement one; solitary; as thick as stem. Culm-sheaths persistent; puberulous; with reflexed hairs; without auricles. Leaf-sheaths puberulous. Leaf-sheath oral hairs lacking. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate, or oblong; 20-30 cm long; 50-70 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface glabrous, or pubescent; sparsely hairy. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
