- Annual; caespitose. Culms erect, or geniculately ascending; 6-16 cm long. Culm-nodes black. Leaf-sheaths without keel; pubescent; with reflexed hairs. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1 mm long; truncate. Leaf-blades 3-6 cm long; 1-2 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface pilose; hairy on both sides.
