Leaves petiolate; blade elliptic to elliptic-ovate, mostly 10–20 × 4–8 cm, coarsely serrate with ± 16–24 teeth on either side, acuminate, basally cuneate and attenuate, nearly glabrous to thinly pubescent on the surfaces, more hairy along the veins especially beneath, with 6–8 pairs of ascending lateral veins; petiole 2–8 cm long
