Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Guiana Shield, Caribbean, Orinoquia, Pacific. Elevation range: 0–1500 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Vaupés, Vichada.
