Leaves with petiole 3–9.5 cm long; lamina ovate or broadly so, largest 7–11.5 × 4–7 cm, margin subentire to grossly crenate-dentate, usually becoming less toothed upwards, apex acuminate to cuspidate, base truncate to shallowly cordate, crisped-puberulous to pubescent along major veins with glossy broad hairs, sometimes also on lamina beneath
