- Morphology General Habit
- Coarse branching usually erect herb up to 2 m. tall, everywhere strigose, some or many of the biramous hairs being brown or black, except on the leaflets; glandular multicellular hairs always present on the pods and usually on the stems, inflorescence and leaf-rhachis.

- Stipules subulate, spreading; leaflets 3–15, more or less elliptic, about twice as long as wide, or narrower, up to 25 mm. long and 8 mm. wide.
