- Softly woody shrub up to 2.5 m. tall; stems 3-angled or narrowly winged, sparingly strigulose, or, less often, brown pubescent.

- Stipules linear-attenuate, up to 1 cm. long; rhachis sparsely strigulose, up to 2 or 3 mm. wide near the base, up to 14 cm. long, including a petiole of ± 2 cm., prolonged up to 10 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets firm, 11–17 or rarely 19, with petiolules up to 4 mm. long and filiform stipellae up to 2 mm. long, elliptic-oblong, up to 45 mm. long and 20 mm. wide, sparingly strigulose on both surfaces.
