Diagnostic
Differs from I. capitata as in the key; the inflorescence also appears brownish instead of grey, the upper leaves are commonly inrolled and thus appear narrower and the stamens seem to be always all fertile.
Habitat
Grassland, hilltops and cliffs in areas where the climax vegetation is lowland rain-forest; 1100–1200 m.; rainfall 1800–2000 mm.
