Annual, up to 45 cm. tall; medifixed hairs on the stems stiffly curved, spreading at the tips.

Leaves simple; stipules lanceolate-subulate, up to 7 mm. long; petiole up to 1 mm. long; blade lanceolate, up to 6 cm. long and 9 mm. wide, sparsely pilose above, crisped strigose beneath.
