Biogeografic region: Andean. Elevation range: 1500–2850 m a.s.l. Cultivated in Colombia. Naturalised in Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Bogotá DC, Caldas, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Putumayo, Quindío, Valle del Cauca.
