Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Caribbean, Orinoquia, Pacific. Elevation range: 0–1600 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Amazonas, Antioquia, Bolívar, Caldas, Casanare, Cauca, Chocó, Cundinamarca, Guainía, San Andrés y Providencia, Santander, Valle del Cauca, Vichada.
