Culm-sheaths persistent. Leaf-sheath oral hairs lacking. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 0.5 mm long; truncate. Collar with external ligule. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 4-8.5 cm long; 5-9 mm wide. Leaf-blade midrib prominent beneath. Leaf-blade venation with 6 secondary veins. Leaf-blade margins scaberulous. Leaf-blade apex attenuate.
