Leaves with blades 10–45 cm broad, the margin irregularly wavy-toothed, the upper surface green or yellowish-green, the lower surface purple and with conspicuous raised reticulate veins; petiole peltately attached almost centrally

Grand Cayman.West Indies and C. America.
Ecology
In ponds and sluggish streams, apparently tolerant of brackish water. The Cayman plants were mostly found in swampy ponds southeast of George Town.
