General Description

Terrestrial herb 60–70 cm high.Pseudobulbs above ground, 10–14 × 1–1.2 cm, erect, cylindrical, clustered.Leaves 2–4, petiolate; 30–80 cm long including the petiole, 1.5–9 cm wide, the blade lanceolate or oblanceolate, plicate.Inflorescence densely many-flowered, the scape with several sheaths along its length.Pedicel and ovary 1.5–2 cm long; bracts 10–25 mm long, linear, acuminate.Flowers yellow or pale green, with purple marks on the side lobes of the lip and an orange callus.Sepals 12–15 mm long, narrowly oblong-elliptic, apiculate, the laterals somewhat falcate.Petals 11–13 × 4.5–6 mm, obovate-oblong, apiculate.Lip 3-lobed, but appearing 4-lobed when flattened, 7 mm long, 18 mm wide; mid-lobe recurved, transversely oblong, emarginate, apiculate; side lobes rounded; callus consisting of 2 fleshy lobes in the mouth of the spur.Spur 3–4 mm long, globose.Column 5 mm long, the apex deflexed.

A terrestrial herb 60–70 cm. tall. Perennating organs pseudobulbous, erect, approximate, cylindrical, 10–14 cm. long, 1–1.2 cm. diameter, green; rhizome 5–11 mm. diameter, short; roots 3–4.5 mm. diameter, white. Leaves 2–4, erect, plicate, lanceolate or oblanceolate, acute, 30–80 cm. long, 1.2–9 cm. wide, longly petiolate. Inflorescence densely many-flowered; peduncle 4–5 mm. diameter, bearing 6 sheaths along length; rhachis 6–10.5 cm. long; bracts linear, acuminate, 10–26 mm. long. Flowers yellow or pale green marked with purple on side lobes of lip and with an orange callus; pedicel and ovary 13–21 mm. long. Dorsal sepal narrowly oblong-elliptic, apiculate, 12–15 mm. long; lateral sepals similar but falcate. Petals obovate-oblong, apiculate to subacute, 11–13 mm. long, 4.5–6 mm. wide. Lip 3-lobed but appearing 4-lobed when flattened, 7 mm. long, 18 mm. wide; side lobes large, rounded; mid-lobe transversely oblong, apiculate, strongly recurved; callus of 2 fleshy lobes at mouth of spur; spur globose, 3–4 mm. long. Column 5 mm. long, deflexed at apex. Fruit not known.
