General Description

A terrestrial herb 20–75 cm. tall. Perennating organs underground, tuberous, irregularly conical to ellipsoidal, 25–32 mm. long, 15–30 mm. diameter; roots fine, 1.5 mm. diameter, white. Leaves 1–2, erect, linear, acuminate, 15–40 cm. long, 2–15 mm. wide. Inflorescence produced with young leaves, clavate; peduncle 2.5–3.5 mm. diameter, bearing 4–5 papery but not overlapping sheaths along length; rhachis 2–11 mm. long; bracts reflexed, aristate, acuminate, 11–15 mm. long. Flowers densely clustered, pale yellow or yellow; pedicel and ovary 10–13 mm. long. Dorsal sepal lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 19–21 mm. long, 4–7 mm. wide; lateral sepals obliquely oblong-lanceolate, acute, 21–37 mm. long, 8–11 mm. wide. Petals oblong, acute or acuminate, 17–26 mm. long, 3.5–8 mm. wide. Lip 3-lobed, 15.5–24 mm. long, 10.5–13.5 mm. wide; side lobes rounded in front; mid-lobe circular to elliptic, obtuse or rounded; callus of 2 ridges with a few papillae in front on base of mid-lobe; spur pendent, subclavate-cylindrical, 2.5–4 mm. long. Column 2–3 mm. long; foot 2 mm. long. Fruit pendent, 16–20 mm. long.
