- As the genus. Recorded only once in Ecuador, near the confluence of R�o Santiago and R�o Cayapas in the NW part of the country.
- General Description
- Subcanopy palm. Stem solitary, to 10 m tall, 15-20 cm in diameter. Leaves 3-6 m long. Inflorescence borne among the leaves, to 60 cm long. Fruits 35 cm in diameter.
